We learned for the first time during a hearing last week that Jefferson County Commissioners have scheduled a hearing Tuesday at 8:00 am on the settlement proposed by Brookfield to settle the loan issue.
The agenda item simply says it will consider the resolution to approve the settlement agreement. There is no draft resolution to read. There is no proposed settlement agreement to read. The attorneys at the hearing suggested there were some changes.
But the public is in the dark, again.
All very quiet. Don’t want to attract much public attention.
You will recall that Jeffco was leaning in favor of approving the settlement agreement that provided repayment of the loan in new taxes on future Rooney Valley residents.
You will recall that Jeffco refused to consider arguing for repayment by the Three Dinos who actually profit from the loan.

We also learned at the hearing that Lakewood is taking a powder. They are going to simply walk away from the case and not take any action to recover repayment of the taxpayer loan.
