This is not a beginning. It is a continuation. A continuation of sharing information, raising issues, identifying choices and providing an opportunity to debate the issues. So our choices will be better informed.
And another way to enjoy the columbine, fossils, rock formations, bobcats, owls, history and good friendship along the way.
Development of the land in our community. Public policy. Recreation. Entertainment. Friendship. Community.
It is a simple vehicle. Not a lot of flash and pizazz. If folks find it useful, it will evolve and improve.
Since I started talking about opening this digital “local newspaper” folks have come up with things they would like to do – a photo contest – column about great hiking and biking – things going on. Favorite sunsets and sunrises.
All are invited to contribute – it will be, literally, for the citizens and by the citizens.
And it will be interactive. Plenty of opportunity to exchange information and ideas. To debate the issues with a focus on addressing the merits of the issues. A place for critical thinking.
It will compete with Next Door but not replace Next Door. Next Door is still an important cyber destination – another bulletin board to exchange information. I’ll troll Next Door for items and republish some of them here.
And this forum will not receive money, it will not accept advertising, and it won’t be governed by an algorithm (or folks who don’t like what you say and know how to manipulate the algorithm) that decides who can post based upon how many times you use a word in the title of a posting – known as “over posting”.
